94 yr old with acute pain in knees and neck [ arthritis] . She's on Celebrex 100mg twice / day given with food plus Emtec 30 8 times / day . These do not touch her pain. She is also on Siv- Amlodipine 2.5 mg in the a.m. and Siv-Perindopril Erbunine 8mg at bed. She cannot administer the pain meds for herself throughout the day. What kind of patch may be suitable to keep her comfortable?l

Patches like fentanyl are very strong medicine.  At 94 years old they wouldn’t be my first choice.  Maybe she isn’t answering to codeine included in Emtec 30.  I would probably try hydromorphone and if it seems more effective, à long acting pill she could take with her antihypertensive meds
