At the hospital today, I recieved 2 doses of protonix by iv. I was sent home with delayed release protonix, to be taken once daily, beginning tomorrow. My symptoms have returned, and I would like to know if I can go ahead and take the oral protonix NOW, instead of waiting until tomorrow morning. Would this be safe, given that I have already had 2 doses by iv?
Alexandra Grenier Pharmacist

It is hard for me to answer your question because I don't know the dose of protonix (pantoprazole) you received.  I suggest you talk to your pharmacist maybe he can suggest another treatment that can help you unitil tomorrow.

The pharmacist is solely responsible for the answer.
