Flagystatin 500mg+ vaginal sup.

This medication is typically used for fungal infections of the vagina or to get rid of parasites. It requires several days to take effect.

Instructions

This medication is to be used vaginally. As this product may leak and stain your underwear, you are advised to wear a sanitary napkin during the treatment. Use the product for the prescribed period of time and follow the directions for use included in the package.

When applying this product, you may feel a slight irritation at first. If the irritation becomes severe or continues longer than a few minutes, consult your health care professional.

Continue using this medication even if you are menstruating.

WARNING: This product can reduce the effectiveness of some methods of contraception (e.g.: condoms, diaphragms) during treatment and for 72 hours after it is completed.

This medication is typically used only once a day. However, your pharmacist may have suggested a different schedule that is more appropriate for you. Generally, a treatment with this medication lasts several days. Use it for the entire time prescribed in order to achieve the medication's full benefit.

Avoid consuming alcohol or alcohol-containing products while taking this medication and for several days after the medication is discontinued. Consuming alcohol while taking this medication may cause vomiting and painful cramps.

Side effects

In addition to its desired action, this medication may cause some side effects, notably:

  • when used, it may cause a temporary burning sensation;
  • it may cause irritation of the vulva.

Each person may react differently to a treatment. If you think this medication may be causing side effects (including those described here, or others), talk to your health care professional. He or she can help you to determine whether or not the medication is the source of the problem.

Storage

As with most medications, this product should be stored at room temperature. Store it in a secure location where it will not be exposed to excessive heat, moisture or direct sunlight. Make sure that any leftover portion is disposed of safely.
