Dyspepsia, defined as painful and difficult digestion, is better known as heartburn. Despite the abdominal discomfort, there are no lesions in the gastrointestinal tract. Dyspepsia represents 15 to 20% of all gastroenterological disorders and mainly affects adults.


Do you still need to treat your heartburn?

As part of the Choose Wisely campaign, the Canadian Pharmacists Association (CPhA) recommends that persons who take a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) to relieve heartburn symptoms review their treatment at least once a year with their pharmacist or doctor.
